Harapanahalli Taluk: 29,726 names removed from final SIR list, says Tahsildar B.V. Girish Babu

Tahsildar B.V. Girish Babu announced that 29,726 names have been removed from the final State Intelligence Report (SIR) list for the Harapanahalli assembly constituency due to various reasons. Speaking after a meeting with political parties held on Sunday at the Taluk Administration Building in the city, he detailed the changes made to the electoral rolls.

Girish Babu stated that out of a total of 2,28,914 voters in the pre-SIR list, 1,99,188 remained in the draft list. Between June 16 and June 22, 2,611 new voters, including 114 service voters, were added. Consequently, the total number of voters in the final list has decreased to 2,02,020. During the verification process, 7,755 deceased voters, 11,536 individuals who permanently relocated to other areas, and 5,524 duplicate names of already registered voters were removed. Additionally, 4,759 absent voters and 152 names with other issues were cancelled. A total of 7,685 notices were issued during the revision process, and 51 cases involving deceased individuals or those already holding names were cancelled during inquiries.

The Tahsildar also clarified that the data for seven Gram Panchayats in Arasikere Hobli of Harapanahalli Taluk will fall under the Jangala assembly constituency in Davangere district, as these areas are administratively part of that constituency.
