Housing Minister and Vijayanagar District In-charge Minister Zameer Ahmed Khan announced that the government is committed to ensuring housing for the poor, with plans to distribute 2.30 lakh houses within the next year.
Speaking after hoisting the national flag during the 70th Kannada Rajyotsava celebrations at the district stadium on Saturday, he alleged that the previous BJP government had neglected housing schemes for the poor. He added that the Congress government has made housing its sixth guarantee and is actively working to provide shelter to the needy.
The minister expressed confidence that the Congress will retain power in the state in the next elections as well.
