Man arrested in Sandur for creating over 100 fake emails and profiles to defame women with 13,500 obscene images

Mumbai Police have arrested a 25-year-old man from Sandur, Karnataka, for allegedly creating fake social media accounts in the names of women and uploading obscene content with the intent to defame them.

The accused has been identified as Shubham Kumar Manojprasad Singh, who was employed as a security guard in Sandur and holds a diploma in Computer Soft Skills from Delhi.

According to the Dahisar police, the investigation began in January when a female student filed a complaint about a fake profile created in her name that was being used to share obscene videos and messages. Based on technical data obtained from Google, Singh was traced and arrested.

During the investigation, police found that he had created 11 fake social media accounts and over 100 email IDs using the names of different women. Authorities also recovered 13,500 images of women, including nude photos, from his mobile phone.

Police said the accused admitted to pressuring women into nude video calls, and if they refused, he would resort to defaming them by creating fake profiles using their names and sharing explicit content.

He has been booked under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the Information Technology Act.
