The Traffic Police were directed to inspect the progress of the Anantashayana Gudi Railway Gate Flyover in Hospet City, Vijayanagar district on December 10, 2024. The flyover, currently under construction, aims to address persistent traffic congestion in the area.
In a related development, a meeting at the assistant commissioner’s office on Tuesday discussed a proposal to construct a Road Over Bridge (ROB) at LC Gate No. 5 in Chittawadagi. The frequent closures of LC Gate No. 4 in Chittawadagi and LC Gate No. 5 near the ISR factory were highlighted as major inconveniences for the public. To address these concerns, the divisional manager of South Western Railway was approached and agreed, based on community feedback, to reduce gate closure durations at LC Gate No. 5 from one hour to 15 minutes.
The meeting saw participation from key stakeholders, including Vijayanagara MLA HR Gaviyappa’s assistant Anil Joshi, Chittawadagi City Welfare Association president Gurumurthy, Vijayanagara Railway Action Committee president Y Yamunesh, railway officer Krishnappa, and representatives from various organizations.
The dual focus on improving the existing infrastructure and planning for new projects demonstrates a concerted effort to resolve ongoing traffic and mobility issues in the region.
