449 Villages in the Ballari-Vijayanagara district become COVID free

The Covid cases in the rural areas of the Ballari and Vijayanagara districts see a fall in numbers and death toll. 449 Villages in the Ballari and Vijaynagara district together have become Covid-free and have not recorded even a single case for a week now.

Last week the number of Covid-free villages in the district was 380 and now has increased to 449. The containment of infection widespread has been possible only due to the praise-worthy precautionary measures taken by the District administration and Zila panchayat at the ground level.

Not a single positive case of Covid was recorded in 69 villages since last week and hence it added up to the villages that were Covid-free already, taking the number to 449. So far 15421 people have been infected from the rural area in 1043 Villages of 237 Gram Panchayats in Ballari and Vijayanagara districts.

Out of 15421 people who were infected, 12734 have recovered and the rate of recovery in the districts has been progressive. Similarly, the number of villages free of COVID infection is also increasing substantially in both districts.

Of these 449 villages including 13 from Bellary taluk, 69 from Hadagalli, 27 from HB Halli, 93 from Harapanahalli, 19 from Hosapete, 12 from Kampli, 24 from Kottur, 84 from Koodligi, 74 from Sandur, 32 from Siruguppa have been found to be free from infection.
