According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), cyclonic depression over the central Bay of Bengal has crossed Tamil Nadu and adjoined south Andhra Pradesh coasts causing rain in areas of Karnataka.
Over the Ballari and Vijayanagara districts in northern Karnataka, widespread very light to moderate rains with occasional heavy rains are expected. Yadgir, Bidar, Kalaburagi, Vijayapura, Bagalkote, Belagavi, Haveri, Koppala, Raichur, and Dharwad districts are likely to see scattered to widespread very light to light rainfall, while the rest of the region is likely to have widespread very light to moderate rains.
Many districts in Karnataka, notably in the south, will be affected by this weather system. So, under the impact of this depression, the IMD expects widespread rain over Karnataka’s south interior districts, starting on November 12 and lasting till November 15. Isolated heavy rainfall will be observed after November 15.
