Two out of three bodies were recovered at the canal

Two of the three students bodies were recovered on Monday at the High Level Canal (HLC) on the right side of the Tungabhadra Reservoir near Nallapur in the Taluk. The body of Yashwant (18) is still missing.

Reports say that a total of 6 students had visited the spot for a swim after bunking classes and 3 of them drowned while swimming. The surviving members of the group were called to the Hospet Rural Police Station for questioning.

Anjini (20), a second-year student studying B.Com, and Gururaj (18), a second-year PUC student, bodies were recovered. According to District Superintendent of Police Shri Haribabu B.L.

On Saturday, six Vijayanagar College students from the city went swimming in the canal (December 17). The three were swept away at this point as a result of the water’s turbulence. Locals came to the rescue of the three. Two days later, the bodies of two of the three people who were washed away were discovered.
