THDC India has announced a tender for the development of 100.1 MW/135 MWp ground-mounted solar power projects at Karnataka Power Corporation’s (KPCL) thermal stations in Bellary and Raichur, Karnataka. The deadline for submitting bids is January 30, 2025, with bids opening the same day.
An earnest money deposit of 82.2 million (~$953,594) is required for bid submission. The successful bidders will be responsible for designing, engineering, procuring, and supplying the solar projects in an engineering procurement and construction mode. They will also manage operations and maintenance for three years.
The total 100.1 MW capacity includes:
9 MW (AC)/72.8 MW at Raichur Thermal Power Station (RTPS)
8 MW (AC)/41.6 MW at Yeramarus Thermal Power Station (YTPS)
4 MW (AC)/20.8 MW at Bellary Thermal Power Station (BTPS)
Bidders must also carry out the necessary bay extension at the 220 kV switchyard within RTPS and BTPS and at YTPS, an extension at the 110 kV switchyard, including transformer upgrades. Geotechnical and geophysical investigations at the proposed project sites are mandatory. The estimated cost of the project is 4.1 billion (~$47.56 million). Solar modules must comply with List-I of the approved models and manufacturers for Solar PV Modules.
Bidders must be class-I local suppliers. THDCIL and KPDC signed a memorandum of understanding in November 2023 to develop various hydro, solar, and pumped storage projects in Karnataka.
