A group of students, accompanied by their teachers and officials led by Zilla Panchayat Chief Executive Officer Rahul Sharanappa Sankanur and Additional Deputy Commissioner Mohammed Zubair, undertook a climb up the historic monolithic Ballari Hill on Friday. This initiative was part of the Constitution Awareness Jatha in Ballari, organized collaboratively by the Ballari district administration, Zilla Panchayat, and the Social Welfare Department to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the Constitution’s acceptance.
Kicking off the Constitution Walk, Mr. Sankanur emphasized the importance of collective efforts in raising awareness about the objectives and principles enshrined in the Constitution. He underscored the need for a fundamental understanding of the Constitution among the public to achieve this goal, acknowledging Dr. B.R. Ambedkar’s contribution in providing the nation with an exceptional Constitution.
Mr. Zubair echoed the sentiment, stating that it is the duty of every citizen to uphold the objectives of the Constitution. He stressed the importance of collective cooperation to disseminate Constitutional values and principles nationwide.
Following these remarks, the group, including students, climbed the monolithic hill. Upon reaching the hilltop, they launched colorful balloons to symbolize the celebration of the Constitution’s spirit. Mr. Sankanur administered the Preamble of the Constitution to the participants at the hilltop, while Deputy Director of the Social Welfare Department, Satish K.H., delivered songs centered around the Constitution.
The base of the hill featured eye-catching Rangolis depicting B.R. Ambedkar, the Preamble of the Constitution, the Ashok Chakra, and the Parliament House. Various officials, including Deputy Commissioner of Excise Manjunath, District Health and Family Welfare Officer Y. Ramesh Babu, District Social Welfare Officer Jalalappa, Assistant Director Mamata P., and Red Cross volunteers actively participated in the program.
