A public hearing was conducted on Thursday in Lokappana Hol village, Hagaribommanahalli taluk, to discuss the expansion of new units at the SLR Metals company. District Officer Kavitha S. Mannikere presided over the event and stated that residents living in the project area and the general public are welcome to offer suggestions and submit grievances regarding the proposal freely.
Officials provided details on the expansion of the coke oven plant’s production capacity, the increase in power plant capacity, and the installation of a new DRI unit. The majority of the public present expressed support for the project. Leaders from various organizations requested the development of basic infrastructure in the villages surrounding the factory and the provision of employment opportunities for local residents. Regional Officer Muralidhar of the Pollution Control Board, Tahsildar R. Kavitha, and Hemalata were present at the meeting.
