A public awareness initiative was organized by the District Police on 27th November under the leadership of CPI Hampi Circle, focusing on road safety and promoting courteous behavior towards tourists. The campaign specifically targeted auto drivers and tour guides in the Hampi area.
During the meeting, auto drivers and Hampi tour guides were urged to behave courteously with tourists arriving both from within the country and abroad. The police emphasized the importance of following road safety regulations, which include adhering to speed limits and ensuring the safety of all passengers.
In addition to this, as part of the District Police’s ongoing efforts, officers visited various schools and colleges, where they conducted sessions with school bus drivers. Drivers were reminded to strictly follow road safety rules, including checking and verifying the driver’s license before operating the vehicle. School management was also advised to ensure that there was no over-speeding, particularly while transporting students.
The initiative was aimed at reinforcing the significance of road safety for the protection of both residents and visitors, as well as fostering a more welcoming environment for tourists in Hampi.
