Over 200 Vaccines administered to students from Anand Singh College

A vaccination drive was carried out in Shri Shankar Anand Singh PU College, Hosapete on July 3. The students wore masks, maintained social distancing and all the Covid appropriate behaviour was considered. Principal B G Kanakesha Murthy addressed the students informing the importance of the Covid-19 vaccine.

The plans have been laid down to provide 200 covid vaccines on a regular basis in the college. “The only way out of this pandemic is to get vaccinated, which will help our body immune system to fight the deadly virus”, said B G Kanakesha Murthy.

Graduate students of the Faculty of Arts, Commerce and Science, and guest lecturers, assistant professor, and the principal of the college, Dr B G Kanakesha Moorthy said that the first-year students will be given free tablets by the government.

The vaccines were administered by the coordination of the Health department officials and the college administration. The students were asked to compulsorily get their ID proofs and their Aadhar cards to get their jabs in college.

“The Health Department and the Karnataka State government has stated the compulsion of vaccine administration. Offline mode exams will begin from this month and the district administration has strictly said not to allow for offline classes in case the student was not vaccinated. Hence, the vaccines are a must”, said B G Kanakesha Moorthy.

“The students shouldn’t give an ear to the fake news and rumours related to vaccines. I request you all to educate and persuade your friends and college mates regarding the vaccine administration”, spoke a health department personnel Dr Nagendra.
