Deputy Commissioner of Ballari district, Pavan Kumar Malapati announced a mass vaccination drive on September 18 in Ballari and Vijayanagara districts. He stated the goal of vaccinating over 1.5 Lakhs of the eligible population in the district.
The Karnataka state Chief Minister, Chief Secretary, Health Minister and other officials held a Video conferencing and expressed complete support in helping the district administration reach its goal of vaccination numbers. Over 550 vaccination teams are expected to be set up. Every team individually will comprise of Vaccinators, Data entry operators, and other helpers. All the departments will be asked to focus completely on the vaccination drive.
In every taluk, Revenue department, Urban Local Body Chief officers, Taluk Panchayat executive officers, PDOs, Revenue Inspectors, and Village Accountants are all expected to take part in the upcoming vaccination drive on September 18. “I urge the people to come forward and get their vaccine jabs and to help make the administration’s vaccination drive, a success”, said the DC.
“The vaccination programme in the Ballari district had begun on January 16, and over 59% of the eligible population of the age group 18+ has been vaccinated. Ballari district comprises 21,50,000 people are of the age group 18+, among them 12,50,000 people have been administered at least first dose of vaccine to date. The remaining set of around 8 lakhs are yet to receive their first dose of vaccine. When compared to the series of districts’ vaccination, Ballari district does need improvement”, said Pavan Kumar Malapati.
He also said that the Ballari district has the risk of getting severely affected if Covid’s 3rd wave hits the surface. He urged the elected body representatives from Urban local bodies, and MLAs to persuade people to get their vaccines and to individually come forward.
In all the Gram Panchayats of the district, on 16 & 17th September, the word will be spread regarding the vaccination drive through the Swachch Bharat vehicles.
