Koppal district topped Kalyana Karnataka in implementing five guarantee schemes, said P.T. Parameshwar Naik, vice‑president of the Karnataka State Guarantee Schemes Implementation Authority, after a press conference on Thursday, September 1 2026. He highlighted the schemes as social‑security initiatives and praised officials for the district’s performance.
Under the Gruha Lakshmi scheme, ₹1,915 crore was disbursed to beneficiaries in Koppal district between August 2023 and March 2026; of the amount credited to 8,108 deceased beneficiaries, ₹89 lakh was recovered and remitted to the government account.
The Shakti scheme saw ₹49.14 crore spent in the district between 2023 and August 2026, and the student bus pass scheme issued free passes to 21,192 students.
Through the Gruha Jyothi scheme, 139,966 consumers in the Koppal electricity division received benefits with ₹209.2 crore spent from August 2023 to July 2026, while 286,730 beneficiaries in the Gangavathi division received ₹442 crore in the same period; verification reached 87.19% in Koppal division and 86.18% in Gangavathi division.
The Yuva Nidhi scheme provided ₹43.41 crore as unemployment assistance to eligible graduates, postgraduates and diploma holders in the district.
Under the Anna Bhagya scheme, 1,229,034 beneficiaries holding 326,424 Priority Household and Antyodaya Anna Yojana ration cards receive 10 kg of foodgrains such as rice and jowar, with ₹313.92 crore spent via DBT from July 2023 to December 2024, ₹198.57 crore from February 2025 to March 2026, and an additional ₹2.08 crore in August 2026.
Present at the event were District-level Guarantee Schemes Implementation Authority chairman Reddy Srinivas, vice‑chairpersons S.B. Khadri, Manjunath Gondabal, Nagaraj Arali and Ambarish Ganji, along with district and taluk‑level committee members and other officials.
