The Karnataka government has halted the film shoot of actor Zaid Khan, son of State Housing Minister B.Z. Zameer Ahmed Khan, in the Hampi area due to the absence of required permissions. Authorities imposed a temporary ban on filming, which was taking place in historically and ecologically sensitive areas without approval.
The production, featuring popular Kannada actress Rachita Ram, was underway near Sanapura and Rangapur villages in Gangavati taluk. Despite his political connections, Zaid Khan and his team reportedly proceeded without securing the necessary clearances. Officials intervened, citing violations of heritage and environmental regulations, and stopped the shoot.
The locations included UNESCO-listed Hampi, the former capital of the Vijayanagara Empire, as well as Anegondi in the Hampi area. Sanapura Lake, a designated water buffalo conservation site, also fell under the restricted zone. Concerns over environmental impact led the forest department to impose additional restrictions, resulting in the suspension of filming.
Despite attempts to continue, the team was forced to halt production following strict enforcement by authorities. The temporary ban remains in place until all required permits are obtained.
