Independence Day Celebration in the newly formed Vijayanagara District

For the first time, the 75th Independence day celebration in the newly carved Vijayanagara district has caused great enthusiasm, ardour, and fervour among the citizens. Sub-Divisional Officer Siddharameshwara exhibited his glee regarding the celebration.

“The celebration in the district will be made sure to follow the Covid appropriate behaviour. Padma Shri Awardee Manjamma Jogathi and Drama Academy Veteran winner M.B Somanna will be honoured at the event”, informed Siddharameshwara at the 75th Independence day preliminary meeting held in the city on Wednesday.

He also clarified that the Independence day celebration would follow the Republic day celebration protocol with minimal people and the school children. Crowding shall be circumvented. By 7:30 AM, the National flag hoisting shall be done in all government officers and by 8:30, the flag shall be hoisted in the Taluk Playground by either Minister Anand Singh or the Special officer Anirudh P Shravan.

The police force, Home guard teams, NCC teams from Shankar Anand Singh college will participate in the Parade starting from the Vadakaraya temple to Taluk Playground.

Tahsildar H Vishwanath, DySP Vishwanath Rao Kulkarni, Municipal Counsellor Mansur Ali and many others were also present at the preliminary meeting.
