The opening day of Hampi Utsav witnessed a massive footfall of 1.5 lakh people, with attractions like the flower and fish exhibitions drawing significant crowds. The Hampi By Sky helicopter service saw increased participation offering tourists an aerial view of the historic monuments.
Despite soaring temperatures of 38°C, the event remained vibrant, with a cattle exhibition and dog show grabbing attention. To combat the heat, over 50 free drinking water stations, 10 medical camps, and water sprinklers were set up. Visitors also enjoyed food and book stalls, as well as water sports.
While Chief Minister Siddaramaiah was absent from the inauguration, Vijayanagara district in-charge minister Zameer Ahmad Khan, alongside Kannada and Cultural Minister Shivaraj Tangadagi, officiated the event. Additionally, free bus services from Kampli and Hosapete ensured smoother access for attendees.
