Surveillance visuals show a man moving suspiciously across parts of Gangavathi town in Koppal district.
Over the past three to four days, multiple complaints have emerged from the CBS Layout area regarding theft of women’s undergarments.
Authorities are expected to take up a detailed probe following growing unease among locals.
Women Voice Safety Concerns
Residents often dry their clothes on rooftops or outside their homes. However, several instances of women’s undergarments going missing have been reported, raising alarm in the locality.
Women, especially those living alone, have expressed fear after the video went viral, highlighting concerns about personal safety.
Late-Night Movement Captured on Camera
A CCTV camera installed outside a residence recorded the suspect’s activity.
The individual entered the premises between 12 am and 1 am by jumping over the compound wall, took the undergarments, and left without being noticed.
Suspect Yet to Be Identified
The footage has been widely circulated locally, but the suspect’s face is not clearly visible, making identification difficult.
It is not yet known whether the individual is from the area or an outsider. The case falls under the jurisdiction of the Gangavathi Police Station.
Similar Cases Reported in Bengaluru
Earlier, comparable incidents were reported under the Rajagopalanagara and Madiwala police station limits in Bengaluru.
In those cases, accused individuals entered women’s PG accommodations and stole undergarments.
CCTV footage had shown unidentified persons taking clothes left out to dry on terraces and engaging in inappropriate acts, raising concerns over safety and privacy.
