Flipkart has bolstered its next-day grocery delivery services by inaugurating a new fulfilment centre in Hubli, Karnataka, expanding its reach to meet the escalating demand for online groceries in Ballari, and other nearby cities. Covering an expansive area of over 60,000 square feet, the facility boasts a daily dispatch capacity exceeding 9,000 units, offering a seamless shopping experience to residents in and around Ballari.
Commenting on the launch, Hari Kumar G, Flipkart’s VP and head of grocery, highlighted the robust growth observed in the coastal Karnataka region and the escalating preference for online grocery shopping among local consumers. This move aims to provide customers with an extensive array of top-notch local products at competitive prices, with the added convenience of next-day delivery.
With a burgeoning demand for online groceries, particularly in Hubli where market growth is witnessing a steady 15 per cent month-on-month surge, Flipkart’s strategic expansion underscores its commitment to meeting evolving consumer needs. Moreover, the absence of swift commerce options in the area has further propelled the desire for prompt delivery of quality groceries.
This latest fulfilment center marks Flipkart’s third venture in the state, reflecting its dedication to not only satisfying consumer demand but also fostering economic opportunities for local sellers, MSMEs, and agricultural communities.
