A five-year-old male leopard died after being hit by an unknown vehicle on National Highway-50 near Mariyammanahalli, according to Kaushik Dalwai, Hospet Range Forest Officer. This incident occurred on Tuesday night. The forest area from Thimmalapur in the Hospet sub-division to Shivapura is home to leopards and other animals, Dalwai informed. In the last four years, five leopards and one bear have lost their lives on this national highway, he added.
