Vijayanagar District Collector M.S. Diwakar has fallen victim to yet another duplicate Facebook account. On Tuesday, numerous messages, including requests like “give me your number,” were sent out under his name.
This marks the third instance of such an incident, as Collector Diwakar explained, “My Facebook account has not been hacked; instead, someone in Uttar Pradesh has created a fake account. I previously filed a complaint regarding a similar situation. I urge the public to be vigilant about such fraudulent posts.”
The messages from this fake account reached various individuals, including noted local figure Mrityunjaya Rumale. “I was surprised to receive a message claiming my number had been shared, as I wasn’t aware it was a fake account. A concerned friend informed me about it, and I promptly blocked the account,” Rumale shared. Other individuals also reported similar experiences.
A fake account has been established in the District Collector’s name, and he requests that no one respond to it. This serves as a reminder for everyone to exercise caution regarding suspicious online activity.
