Drainage Water Overflow on Roads Upsets Residents and Workers

Persistent drainage overflow on the KSIDC Industrial Area Dam Road has left residents and workers frustrated as untreated gutter water continues to spill onto the main road. The issue has reportedly been ongoing for a long time, causing inconvenience and raising hygiene concerns in the busy industrial zone.

V N Sharma from ARC Limited, a company operating in the affected area, spoke to Hospet Online and expressed strong dissatisfaction with the situation. Sharma stated that there has been no regular gutter cleaning by the local corporation and added that this problem has become a usual occurrence.

People working in the surrounding units say the open drain, marked as Gutter on road R22, frequently overflows, especially after minor blockages or rainfall. Vehicles passing through the stretch face difficulty navigating the slippery and foul smelling waterlogged road.

Local businesses have urged authorities to take immediate action and ensure routine maintenance of the drainage system. They emphasize that proper upkeep is essential to maintain cleanliness in the industrial area and prevent potential health risks.

Residents hope that the concerned officials will address the problem at the earliest and provide a long term solution to prevent repeated overflow incidents.
