Bihar youth skates all the way to Hospet on cross-country journey across India

A skater from Bihar, known on social media as Keshu Skater, has reached Hospet after more than 145 days on the road, covering thousands of kilometres from the eastern state to Karnataka in the south. He hails from Sitamarhi district in Bihar and has been crossing the country entirely on roller skates without a vehicle, taking in stops at Hampi’s Virupaksha Temple and the Vittala Temple chariot along the way. He relies on petrol pumps and temples along the highway for shelter at night and eats at local hotels during the day.

Visuals from his journey show him entering Hospet through a highway underpass during rainfall, with two small flags fixed to his backpack, and local residents welcomed him to the city and the wider Vijayanagara region. From Hospet, he continued to Virupaksha Temple in Hampi and the Vittala Temple complex, where he compared the stone chariot monument with an actual fifty rupee note. Earlier in his journey through Karnataka, a video of a roadside encounter with the state police drew wide attention online, with an officer stopping him on a highway and questioning him out of curiosity. The skater has not announced his next destination, but his journey continues to be followed closely on social media as he moves further into south India.
