Ballari KIADB Engineer Accused of Processing Government Files from Home in Davanagere. Work from home?

Sridhar, an executive engineer with the Karnataka Industrial Areas Development Board (KIADB) posted in Ballari, has landed in controversy for allegedly processing official files from his residence in Davanagere, nearly 200 km away.

Reports suggest that Sridhar was working remotely and had files delivered to him using hired taxis, violating rules prohibiting taking official documents to private residences.

The matter surfaced when two Allipura residents, Srinivas Reddy and Santhosh, stopped a suspicious taxi en route to Davanagere and called 112. Upon inspection, over 90 files were discovered in the vehicle’s boot—allegedly being sent to Sridhar via senior assistant Nazeer. The taxi and documents were taken to the Ballari Rural police station.

The district deputy commissioner and superintendent of police were notified. Later, Assistant Engineer Govinda Nayak arrived at the police station to collect the files but was informed that Sridhar would need to personally appear for clarification. Nayak was sent back without the documents.
