B. Nagendra, the Minister overseeing Tribal Welfare, Youth Empowerment, and Sports, along with his responsibility for Ballari, announced that 2,59,161 beneficiaries have registered within the district for the Gruha Lakshmi Scheme. The scheme’s official launch is scheduled for an impressive public event in Mysuru on Wednesday.
During a press briefing at the Deputy Commissioner’s office in Ballari, held on Sunday, Minister Nagendra informed that thorough arrangements are being made for live streaming the event at 101 different locations across the district. This includes various administrative bodies such as the Ballari City Corporation, City Municipal Councils, Town Municipal Councils, Town Panchayats, and Gram Panchayats. To ensure the comfort of the attendees, fundamental amenities like seating, drinking water, restrooms, and refreshments will be provided.
Minister Nagendra also extended an invitation to the women in the district, urging them to express their participation by creating rangoli designs saying ‘I am Gruha Lakshmi – Head of my Family’ in front of their homes on the event day, and to celebrate this occasion joyously.
The details shared by him indicate that the district has a total of 3,01,180 potential beneficiaries, out of which 2,59,161 individuals (86.05%) have successfully registered up until now. The remaining count of unregistered beneficiaries stands at 42,019. Notably, the district’s registration progress has secured the fifth position among all districts.
Minister Nagendra used this platform to encourage those who are yet to register to make use of the available registration facilities, such as the Gram One, Karnataka One, and Bapuji Seva Kendras.
Notable figures such as Na.Ra. Bharath Reddy, the MLA for Ballari City, Mayor Triveni, Deputy Mayor Janaki, Deputy Commissioner Prashant Kumar Mishra, Superintendent of Police Ranjith Kumar Bandaru, Deputy Director of Women and Child Development Vijay Kumar, and other dignitaries were also present during this briefing.
