According to the Karnataka State Natural Disaster Monitoring Center (KSNDMC), an earthquake of moderate intensity was detected on Tuesday in Ballari. According to the state agency, the 1.5 km SSW of Ayyanahalli village, Danapur gram panchayat, the 1.9-magnitude intensity earthquakes was felt at a radial distance of 15-20 km from the epicenter.
According to KSNDMC, a seismogram of the above earthquake shows a very low intensity and the tremor may be felt to a radius of 15-20 kilometers from the epicenter.
According to the tracking organization, because of the earthquake’s “very low” intensity, the local population would not be harmed. It did mention that nearby tremors might be detected, though.
According to the tectonic chart, the area is devoid of any structural discontinuities and the epicenter is located in seismic zone II, according to KSNDMC.
Additionally, it urged the locals not to worry because “the magnitude and intensity observed are very low.”
