Physical activity and academic achievement
Students are who are physically active tend to have better grades, school attendance, cognitive performance (e.g.memory and classroom behaviors (e.g. on-task behavior)
Higher physical activity and physical fitness levels are associated with improved cognitive performances ( e.g.concentration, memory among students).
Good nutrition is always important but during this Pandemic it’s even more important because a well balanced diet of nutritious foods helps support a strong immune system. A balanced diet is one that fulfills all of a person’s nutritious needs. Humans need a certain amount of calories and nutrients to stay healthy. In our diet we have to take carbohydrates, proteins, fats, minerals and vitamins.
Regular physical activity can help children and adolescents to improve cardiorespiratory fitness, build strong bones and muscles control weight, reduce symptoms of anxiety and depression and reduce risk of developing health conditions such as Heart disease, Cancer, Type -II Diabetes, High blood pressure, Obesity.
Physical inactivity can lead to energy Imbalance (e.g.expand less energy through physical activity than consumed through diet) and can increase the risk of becoming over weight or obese. Increase the risk for developing Type -II diabetes. Increase the risk of factors for cardiovascular disease, high blood pressure, Obesity and Insulin resistance and glucose intolerance. Lead to low bone density, which in turn leads to osteoporosis.
N. Harinatha Reddy requests everyone to improve physical health as well as mental health and I urge all of you please inculcate a habit of physical culture in your daily routine.
