During the recent budget speech, CM Basavaraj Bommai announced several new projects and welfare schemes for Karnataka. A mega-dairy in Bellary and a fish hatchery in Haveri are planned as part of these initiatives. There has been an allocation of ten thousand crores for the Bhusiri project and a total of twenty-four thousand crores for the Rural Development Department.
As part of his two-and-a-half-hour budget speech, CM Basavaraj Bommai stated that this is a budget with a surplus of revenue. For the first time since the epidemic hit, revenue receipts have exceeded revenue expenditures by 402 crores. The CM announced new social programs and initiatives in areas such as education, medicine, environmental protection, etc.
He further describes the details of budget allocation:- cloud-based state data center will be created at ₹590 crores’ To provide relief for salaried workers, the tax exemption cap will be increased. Karnataka would spend 13,139 crore (or 30%) on land purchase costs. Bangalore traffic and mobility concerns are a priority of the STRR project, Karnataka supports weavers, and will raise the concessional diesel limit for fishing boats. Modernizing police stations will cost 348 crores, and 10 orphanages will receive 2 crore.
GST collection increased by 26%, and the state’s finances are stable. Women’s zero-interest loan program; acid attack victims will receive $10,000 in compensation; Karnataka will provide a special grant for the Karaga Utsava
There will be 24,000 Poura Naukararu posts filled. Over 46,000 crores are allotted for women’s and children’s welfare, 250 “She Toilets” are installed in Bengaluru’s markets and complexes, and 3000 crore is set aside for a project to combat climate change. Gratis coaching is available to Agniveers from SC/ST, minority communities, and 500 crores for medical education, 100 crores for the Anjanadri hill near Hampi 8 lakh kids will benefit from free education at government PU and degree colleges.
1,000 crore for the Kalasa-Bandoora Nala Thiruvu Yojane, the “Majestic Ram Temple” atop Ramadevara Betta in Ramanagara, the Vishwa Kannada Sammelana, Bommai’s attempt to promote Kannada, Bangalore roads are a focus, with 75 intersections being built at a cost of 150 crore for traffic management, and 75 wells and dams being built in drought-stricken districts and so on development will take place in Karnataka.
